As I mentioned in an early post, change is in the air for Jasmine Photography. Over the past fews weeks the word “change” has brought me a lot of different emotions. Sometimes when change is brought on by someone else it brings confusion, denial and sadness. Since you didn’t make the decision to do something new you feel left hanging trying to figure out what your next step will be. I went through these emotions and for a week or more was stuck in them. What happened is my studio mate decided to move out and move on to another venture. I was excited for her but I didn’t know what I was going to do. I certainly don’t need all this space that I’m currently in, so what next?
Well, I broke out of my funk and started searching for a new space. For hours each nite I would email people for more images and information about the space they had available. Then something exciting came up. Small studio spaces available near my house. I started envisioning the positive changes that would come with that; I’d be able to ride my bike to work, walk to the post office and bank, not have to worry about finding a parking spot, be able to take a walk in the park across the street and be on ground level! The space is much smaller so I won’t be doing studio shoots there but have access to other studios when needed. I’m more of a natural light photographer anyway and love working on location. I get a lot of inspiration from shooting this way.
By July 1st I’ll be in my studio space! I am taking photos of the transformation to share with all of you. Now that I’ve embraced the change I’m really excited to get into my new little boutique studio!
