I recently flew back home to Wisconsin to surprise my dad for his 60th Birthday. I love a good surprise and walking in on his birthday dinner while he was surrounded by a group of friends was so exciting and emotional. We both ended up crying and I think I made his day!
While I was back home Laura and her family drove up to Door County to meet me for a family portrait session. This was especially exciting for me since Laura and I went to college together at UW Stout and haven’t seen each other since then. They just added a cute little girl named Cailin to their family. It was a spring day in Wisconsin and the weather man threatened rain but it seemed to be holding off all afternoon. When I got to their cabin I said, “let’s start shooting inside with the newborn and then do the family stuff.” Well, it didn’t rain until we decided to move outside for the family pics! So loaded with umbrellas and running to a nearby overhang, we managed to get the following images. It was windy, rainy and cold! They were troopers for the shoot and did a great job. Here are some of my fav’s. Enjoy!
